12:33 pm PT Imperial Sugar updates status of Louisiana refineryþIPSU 14.10 +0.05:Co announces it had resumed refining operations at the Gramercy, Louisiana cane sugar refinery, located approx 20 miles northwest of New Orleans on the Mississippi River. Limited shipping has commenced and resumption of normal shipping operations is dependent on the availability of transportation equipment and fuel. Operations at the refinery were suspended on Saturday morning, Aug 27 due to the approach of Hurricane Katrina.
