9:54 am PT Giant Industries experiences fire at Yorktown refinery (GI) 56.60 -0.41:Co announces that a fire occurred at its Yorktown refinery at approx 1 a.m. EST. The fire occurred in the vicinity of the Fluid Catalytic Cracker. Emergency personnel responded immediately and contained the fire to the area, although there was also some damage to adjacent units. Presently, it appears that no employees have been injured. The co will be assessing the damage and will make additional information available after the assessment is completed.
