12:58 pm PT Afternoon Wrap: Positive Friday again but Semi lags :For the second week in a row the market has taken it on the chin with the lows noted at Thursday's trough bringing the slide off the Oct high in the S&P 500 to 5.2% (high to low). Also like the previous week we have also seen some improvement on Friday. Today's performance is better than last Friday as the gains have been more substantial and broader based. Pacing the way today are: Airline +3.1%, Coal +2.7%, Oil Service +2.5%, Healthcare +2.4%, Casino +2.3%, Natural Gas +2%, Tobacco +1.9%, Biotech +1.9%, Software +1.9%, REIT +1.9%, Disk Drive +1.7%, Steel +1.6%, Defense +1.5%. One note of caution today is the lagging performance of the Semi sector -0.9%.
