21.37 -1.12: Borders Group, the nation's second largest bookseller behind Barnes & Noble (BKS), on Tuesday reported a wider than expected loss for the first quarter, hurt by a challenging sales environment at Waldenbooks stores and in the U.K.� Specifically, the Ann Arbor, Michigan-based company said its loss widened to $18.9 million, or ($0.29) per share, compared with a loss of $5.4 million, or ($0.07) per share, a year earlier.� Excluding certain items, it reported an operating loss of $19.2 million, or ($0.30) per share
