It was a modestly upbeat week for the stock market.� The S&P 500 index gained 2 points on the week, all on Friday.� The Dow ended with a loss.� That wasn't a bad performance considering the news leaned bearish.
Inflation was a focus. On Tuesday, the Federal Reserve released the FOMC policy minutes from the January 31 meeting.� The minutes said that inflation had been "somewhat higher" than what was acceptable.� That suggests that the Fed will raise interest rates further until it is no longer the case. Three Veggie Tips. 1) Keep your kitchen full of vegetables that won't spoil quickly -- onions, garlic, potatoes, winter squash, carrots. 2) At a salad bar, fill up your plate with salad greens first. 3) Next time you make pasta with vegetables, use half as much pasta and twice as many vegetables.
